In a daring abduction case in Meghalaya, the manager of a construction company has been taken from the project site in Karukol Siju area of South Garo Hills district. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Akhilesh Singh Chauhan from Lucknow, was working on a bridge construction project on NH-217 when the incident occurred.

Details of the Abduction
The abduction took place in the early hours of Wednesday, around 1.30am, while the construction workers and the team from RK Singh Construction Company were asleep in the camp at Rongdik village in Karukol. The unidentified assailants reportedly approached the camp, claiming that their vehicle had run out of fuel and asking for diesel. It was during this encounter that they took Chauhan with them.
