Arrest of Fake Kidnap Suspects in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos States police Command have made a significant breakthrough in the case of a faked kidnapping, leading to the arrest of four individuals involved in the elaborate scheme. The suspects, identified as Margret Itodo, Agnes Ogbeh, Esther Anyanwu, and Anthony Chinakwe, were apprehended for their roles in the fake abduction of Agnes Ogbeh.

Details of the Fake Kidnapping

Agnes Ogbeh, a resident of Akure in Ondo State, had travelled to Lagos when the alleged kidnapping took place. Her family back in Akure received a distressing video showing Agnes and another individual tied up, gagged, and appearing to be in distress with blood droplets visible around them. The alleged kidnappers demanded a ransom of N5 million for the release of Agnes.

Discovery and Arrest of the Suspects

Upon receiving the report of the kidnapping, detectives from the Lagos States Police Command launched a thorough investigation into the matter. Their efforts led them to a hideout where Agnes, the other individual from the video, and two additional individuals were found living together freely.

Further investigation revealed that Margret Itodo, one of the suspects, is a professional make-up artist who was hired to create the realistic appearance of a kidnapping in the video. All four suspects have made confessional statements and are set to face charges following the conclusion of the investigation.

Response from Police Authorities

In response to the arrest of the fake kidnapping suspects, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos, CP Adegoke Fayoade, commended the detectives for their swift and thorough investigation.
