**Woman fakes own kidnapping for funds to travel abroad**

In a shocking revelation, a 21-year-old woman, identified as Kavya, has been accused of faking her own abduction in order to gather funds to travel abroad. The incident came to light when her parents, residing in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, received a ransom demand of Rs 30 lakh along with distressing images showing their daughter seemingly tied up.

**Deception uncovered**

Kota police launched an investigation after Kavya’s father, Raghuveer Dhakad, filed a complaint on March 18, alleging her kidnapping. However, as the investigation progressed, it was discovered that Kavya had been misleading her parents by sending them fake pictures and messages, creating the illusion that she was still in Kota attending coaching classes.

Despite her parents’ concerns and the police investigation, Kavya remains elusive. Her last known whereabouts were reported in Indore, where she has been living with two male friends. It was revealed that Kavya had only spent three days in Kota, where she was supposed to be attending coaching classes while staying in a hostel arranged by her mother.

**Desperate bid for funds**

A friend who is cooperating with the police disclosed that Kavya and another friend, believed to be with her presently, had ambitions to escape abroad but lacked the necessary funds. In a desperate bid to gather money, they resorted to faking the kidnapping and demanding ransom from her parents.

**Planning for the future**

Kavya and her friends had previously studied in Indore and had aspirations to pursue further studies abroad. However, their financial constraints led them to devise the elaborate plan of faking the abduction. The police revealed that Kavya set up the fake kidnapping photos in a friend’s room before switching off their phones to avoid detection.

**Unravelling the truth**

Circle Inspector Satish Chaudhary stated that during the initial stages of the investigation, no enrollment records of Kavya were found in the institute or hostel mentioned by her father. The police have not found any evidence of abduction and believe that Kavya and her friends travelled to Jaipur on March 18.
