Upon arrival, Las Vegas Metropolitan police officers encountered a man walking with a pizza in the vicinity. Not long after, another man, later identified as Donald Sean Holmes, 47, was seen walking in the same direction as the pizza-carrying individual. Holmes, displaying nervous behaviour and avoiding eye contact, caught the attention of the officers.

The Shooting

As officers were investigating the situation and searching for the individuals outside the home, they heard a gunshot ring out in close proximity. The victim recounted the harrowing experience, detailing how an unknown assailant had approached him, put a gun to his neck, and fired.

Identification of the Suspect

Surveillance footage obtained from a nearby residence captured the incident, allowing authorities to identify Holmes as the shooter. Concerned neighbours approached the police and pointed towards a specific address where they believed the suspect resided. Upon reaching the location on Arcadia Avenue, officers observed multiple bullet holes in the front door and proceeded to enter the premises to ensure the safety of any potential victims. Holmes was found inside and instructed to vacate the residence.

Confession and Seizure of Evidence

During questioning, Holmes confessed to the shooting. A search of the house led to the discovery of a Ruger .380 semi-automatic handgun and bullet slugs, further corroborating his involvement in the crime. Initially arrested on attempted murder and battery charges, Holmes now faces a murder charge as per court documents.
