In a devastating turn of events, two employees of a jeans factory lost their lives while another was critically injured after a building collapse in the Welcome area of northeast Delhi. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Details of the Incident
According to the police, all three employees were working on the ground floor of the two-storey building when tragedy struck. Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey revealed that a call was received at 2:16 am reporting the collapse of the old construction building.
While the first floor of the building was vacant, the ground floor was being utilized for cutting jeans. Unfortunately, the workers were trapped under the debris, leading to a frantic rescue operation by the authorities.
Rescue Efforts and Casualties
Delhi Fire Service (DFS) station officer Anoop Singh stated that four fire brigade vehicles were deployed to the scene to assist in the rescue operation. Despite their best efforts, two of the trapped workers, identified as Arshad (30) and Tauhid (20), succumbed to their injuries. Another worker, Rehan (22), is currently undergoing treatment at GTB hospital.
Local councillor Haji Zarif and AIMIM leader Shoaib Jamui were among the first responders at the scene, emphasizing the need for swift action and accountability in the aftermath of the tragedy.
