The Investigation
The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad conducted a thorough investigation into the hit-and-run. It was determined that Jean-Charles was walking south across West Main Street when she was struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene immediately.
The Arrest
After an extensive investigation, police identified Salvatore Longo, a 58-year-old resident of Greenwich, as the suspect in the fatal hit-and-run.
