However, Gopal had recently stopped going to work and was spending more time at home with his kids. He had been involving Mama and Runa in roasting cashew nuts as a way to pass the time.
The tragedy unfolded when Kuni went to work on that fateful Monday, leaving Gopal at home with the children. He asked Mama to help him with roasting cashew nuts, but she refused. This refusal reportedly triggered Gopal’s anger, leading to the fatal assault on his daughter. When Kuni returned home from work, she discovered the lifeless body of her daughter and immediately contacted the authorities.
The local police sprang into action, launching a search for Gopal Behera and apprehending him shortly after. Sub-inspector Bhakta Charan Mukhi confirmed that a case had been registered based on the mother’s complaint, and a thorough investigation was underway. The girl’s body was sent to MKCG Medical College and Hospital for a detailed autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
