On a fateful night in Stevens Point, a tragic assault took place that ultimately led to the death of 61-year-old Donald Mitchell Jr. The incident occurred on Friday, March 15, when Mitchell was found lying on the ground in City Parking Lot #16. He was rushed to Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital and later transferred to Aspirus Wausau Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Sadly, Mitchell passed away the following day at around 3:08 p.m.

Suspects Apprehended, One Still at Large
Following the assault, the Stevens Point police Department swiftly took action, arresting 18-year-old Christian Emerson of Wausau on the same night. Emerson is currently in custody at the Portage County Jail, facing charges of recklessly endangering safety. Additionally, 20-year-old Brandon Boehm and Arlin Sangster turned themselves in to authorities in connection with the incident.
However, one suspect remains at large in the case. The police are actively searching for 19-year-old Daemon Kitzrow, a resident of the Wausau area. Anyone with information on Kitzrow’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Portage County Sheriff’s Office at 715-346-1503.
