Tragic Accident Claims Life of 45-Year-Old Man in Pune

Pune witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday morning as a 45-year-old man lost his life in a fatal car accident. The victim, Maruti Dhone, a resident of Lohegaon, was travelling in an autorickshaw on the Lohegaon-Alandi Road when a car collided with the vehicle from behind. The impact of the collision caused the autorickshaw driver, Rohail Shaikh, to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in injuries to four other passengers.

Dhone, who was employed at a cowshed near Alandi, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The autorickshaw driver was rushed to a nearby private hospital in critical condition, while the other three injured passengers were treated and later discharged. A relative of Dhone lodged a complaint against the unidentified car driver with the Lonikand police station.

According to police reports, the accident occurred around 5.30 am when Dhone and the other passengers were travelling from Lohegaon to Alandi in a share auto. The car that hit them fled the scene, leaving the victims stranded. The authorities have obtained the registration number of the car but are yet to track down the vehicle and identify the driver.

The tragic incident has left the community in shock, with residents expressing their condolences to the family of the deceased. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure such accidents are prevented in the future.
