Woman Claims Self-Defense in Shooting of Alleged Kidnapper
A woman from Montgomery, who was found near a Hill Country winery, has claimed self-defense after shooting and killing a Houston man. The woman stated that the man had kidnapped and drugged her, leading to the fatal encounter.

Discovery Near a Winery
Authorities were alerted when the woman called 911, initially providing a vague location. Deputies eventually located her near a winery in the 10800 block of East US Highway 290, as reported by the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman informed authorities on March 15 that she had shot the man who had allegedly abducted her. She provided a description of his car, which was later found in the outside lane of westbound traffic. Inside, they found the lifeless body of the suspected kidnapper, identified as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid.

Unfortunately, Reid was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to the hospital for treatment. It was revealed that the two individuals were acquainted and had been on a planned weekend trip together, culminating in the shocking turn of events.
