Ernest Green Charged with Distribution of Fentanyl Causing Death

Ernest Green, also known as Fire, Burn, Ern the Burn, Dread, and B Love, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for distribution of fentanyl causing death and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine. The charges against Green carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 20 years in prison and a maximum of life.

Details of the Indictment

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Adler, the indictment alleges that between 2019 and May 27, 2020, Green conspired with others to sell fentanyl and cocaine. On May 27, 2020, Green sold fentanyl that resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals identified as J.Y., T.M., and D.R.

Arraignment and Previous Conviction

Green, who is currently serving a 120-month federal sentence for a 2022 conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm, was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer. U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross expressed outrage at the actions of defendants like Ernest Green, who contribute to the spread of deadly narcotics in our communities.
