Tragic Car Accident Leads to Arrest of Hot Springs Woman
A young woman from Hot Springs, Elizabeth Tabora Hill, found herself in legal trouble after a tragic car accident that occurred one year ago resulted in the death of a child. The 22-year-old was arrested on Friday morning on a misdemeanor count of negligent homicide in connection with the incident.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Hill was taken into custody at her place of employment on Albert Pike around 6 a.m. on Friday. The warrant for negligent homicide carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail. However, she was later released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Garland County District Court on April 16.
Prior Criminal History
Court records show that Hill’s only prior criminal offense was a misdemeanor charge of third-degree aggravated assault on a family or household member, for which she was fined $290. This incident occurred on January 27, 2022, and a no-contact order related to the case was dismissed at the victim’s request.
The Tragic Accident
The events leading to Hill’s arrest unfolded on March 18, 2023, when Hot Springs police responded to an injury wreck on Airport Road. A 2010 Buick LaCrosse, driven by Hill, had crashed into a railroad cantilever after crossing into oncoming traffic and striking a curb. The car caught fire, and both Hill and a juvenile passenger were injured.
Loss of Life
Tragically, the child passenger, whose age and gender were not disclosed, succumbed to their injuries at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs. The affidavit states that the child was pronounced dead at the hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident. Hill, though initially incapacitated, later recovered from her injuries.

Substance Use Allegations
Following the accident, Hill underwent a urinalysis/drug screen at the hospital, which tested positive for cannabinoids or marijuana. Hill admitted to marijuana use but denied smoking cigarettes, using smokeless tobacco, or consuming alcohol. The investigation also revealed that the speed of the LaCrosse at the time of the wreck was approximately 60 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Legal Action
Based on the evidence gathered, including security footage and accident reconstruction analysis, a warrant was issued for Hill’s arrest on the charge of negligent homicide.
