A witness who was present at the time of the shooting informed the police that Brown had contacted him prior to the drug deal, expressing his unease about the transaction. The witness recounted that three men, later identified as Bennett, Jamal McFadden, and Keshawn Bess, arrived at the mobile home to purchase the marijuana. Bennett and Bess were reportedly armed and demanded both money and drugs.

Despite Brown’s compliance, the situation escalated, leading to the fatal shooting. The witness managed to escape to the back bedroom with his girlfriend, where they hid during the ordeal. Surveillance footage later revealed that the suspects fled the scene in a white Chevy vehicle registered to McFadden.
