Marie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marie was born on March 12, 1957, in Sycamore to the late John and Sarah Tucker. She grew up in a close-knit family and was always known for her caring nature and infectious laughter. Marie attended Sycamore High School, where she excelled academically and made lifelong friendships.

After high school, Marie went on to pursue a career in nursing, a profession that perfectly suited her compassionate personality. She spent many years working as a dedicated nurse, providing comfort and care to countless patients. Marie’s commitment to helping others was truly inspiring and left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
In 1980, Marie married the love of her life, James Apperson. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Marie and James were a true example of a loving partnership, supporting each other through thick and thin.
Marie was also a devoted mother to her two children, Emily and Michael. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, instilling in them the values of kindness, compassion, and perseverance. Marie’s children were her pride and joy, and she took great joy in watching them grow and succeed.
In addition to her roles as a wife and mother, Marie was also a doting grandmother to her three precious grandchildren. She adored spending time with them, showering them with love and creating unforgettable memories that they will cherish forever.

Marie is survived by her loving husband, James Apperson; her daughter, Emily (David) Johnson; her son, Michael (Sarah) Apperson; her grandchildren, Lily, Noah, and Ava; her siblings, Sarah (Tom) Smith and John (Mary) Tucker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Marie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will forever be remembered and cherished.
A celebration of Marie’s life will be held on Saturday, March 20, at the Sycamore Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Marie’s honor.
