Delores was born on December 12, 1931, in Watseka to loving parents, William and Margaret Knapp. She grew up in a close-knit family, surrounded by the love and support of her siblings. Delores had a passion for learning and excelled in her studies, graduating at the top of her class from Watseka High School.
