Neighborhood Terror: Woman Who Shot Up Joel Osteen’s Mega-Church Had a Disturbing Past

In a disturbing turn of events, it has been revealed that the woman who opened fire at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston had a history of terrorizing her neighborhood. Genesse Ivonne Moreno, 36, had been causing havoc in her Conroe, Texas community, brandishing guns and crossbows while throwing Nazi salutes.
Neighbors reported that Moreno would intimidate them by bringing gun cases and crossbows in and out of her home. She would often make offensive gestures and hurl insults at them. Some even claimed that she tried to run them over with her car. police were called multiple times to the residence she shared with her mother and her 7-year-old special-needs son.
Moreno’s disturbing behavior extended to her relationship with her son. Divorce records revealed that she showed “no attachment to the child” and referred to him only as “the boy.” Instead of making eye contact with him, she ignored him completely.
The tragic incident at Lakewood Church on Sunday saw Moreno bring her son with her as she opened fire with an AR-style rifle. Two off-duty officers who were working security at the church, Houston cop Christopher Moreno and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Agent Adrian Herrera, returned fire and fatally shot her. Unfortunately, during the exchange of gunfire, Moreno’s son was also hit in the head and is currently fighting for his life in the hospital.

Investigators are still trying to determine if the 7-year-old boy was accidentally shot by one of the officers. In addition to the young boy, a 57-year-old innocent bystander was also injured in the incident but has since been discharged from the hospital.
Moreno’s troubled past is also coming to light. Records show that she had a lengthy rap sheet, with charges ranging from forgery to assault. She had also used both male and female aliases, leading to speculation about her gender identity.
