18-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Slashing Male Victim’s Face in Wauconda, IL

An 18-year-old woman from Wauconda, Illinois, is facing charges after allegedly slashing a male victim’s face multiple times with a bladed object. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the 900 block of Grand Boulevard, according to a news release from the Wauconda police Department.
Authorities were alerted to the incident after receiving a delayed battery report. Witnesses at the scene informed police that Bailee R. Parks, the 18-year-old suspect, had used a bladed object to slash the male victim, causing significant facial lacerations. The victim, who managed to leave the scene, was rushed to MercyHealth Hospital in Crystal Lake, where he received 22 stitches for his injuries. The right side of his face had been slashed, narrowly missing a major artery.
Following the incident, police located Parks at her residence and took her into custody. During the arrest, authorities seized items of evidentiary value, which will aid in the ongoing investigation.
Chief David Wermes of the Wauconda Police Department expressed his concern over the violent act, stating, “This senseless act of violence caused permanent disfigurement to a young individual and nearly cost him his life.”

Parks now faces charges of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She has been transported to the Lake County Jail to await further legal proceedings.
