Tragic Accident Claims the Life of a Dedicated EMT on I-95
A devastating incident occurred on Interstate 95 in Broward County over the weekend, resulting in the loss of a young and promising Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Yanaisa Pulido, a 23-year-old EMT, was struck and killed while trying to assist victims of a multi-vehicle crash.

In a heartfelt GoFundMe page set up by her family, it was revealed that Pulido had completed the Hialeah Fire Cadet program in 2019 and had been working as an EMT in Miami-Dade while pursuing her education. Described as a hero with a genuine desire to help others, Pulido’s dream was to be a first responder and save lives.
The tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning. At around 4 a.m., a car lost control in the southbound lanes of I-95, north of State Road 84. Another vehicle collided with the out-of-control car, setting off a chain reaction involving a total of six vehicles, including Pulido’s.
Having just finished her shift, Pulido was on her way home when she came across the crash. Without hesitation, she stopped to render aid to those in need. Tragically, while providing assistance, two additional cars crashed into one of the vehicles from the initial collision, fatally striking Pulido.
The scene was a chaotic one, and emergency services arrived promptly. However, despite their efforts, Pulido was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash also resulted in three other individuals, including a 7-year-old boy, being hospitalized. Their current conditions remain unknown.

As authorities continue their investigation into the incident, the loss of Yanaisa Pulido serves as a poignant reminder of the risks faced by first responders and the selfless dedication they exhibit in their line of work.
