The woman suspected of opening fire at a Houston megachurch on Sunday has been identified as Genesse Moreno, a 36-year-old woman. The shooting occurred at Lakewood Church, which was founded by celebrity pastor Joel Osteen’s father. Moreno began shooting just before 2 p.m. and was shot and killed by two off-duty officers who returned fire.

It has been confirmed that the critically injured 7-year-old boy who was hospitalized after the shooting is Moreno’s son, according to Houston police Chief Troy Finner. Sadly, the child is not expected to survive his wounds, as reported by a spokesperson for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities have revealed that Moreno brought her son to Lakewood Church and opened fire in a hallway. Two off-duty officers working security at the church engaged the shooter and killed her.
