Former Georgia Cop Pleads Not Guilty in Fatal Shooting of Black Man During Towing Dispute

Ex-officer Mac Bailey Marquette, who had only been on the force since 2020, was identified as the officer who responded to the home of Steve Perkins that fateful evening. The incident began when a tow truck driver called the police to report that Perkins had allegedly threatened him with a firearm while he attempted to repossess his truck.

Marquette was seen sneaking from around the back of Perkins’ home as the tow truck attempted to take the vehicle again.
