The authorities had previously released photos of Ochoa-Salgado, hoping that the public would come forward with information to help identify him. The release of his identity marks a significant breakthrough in the investigation.

In addition to Sandoval and Ochoa-Salgado, three other victims have already been identified: Baldemar Mondragon-Albarran, 34, from Adelanto, Franklin Noel Bonilla, 22, from Hesperia, and Kevin Dariel Bonilla, 25, also from Hesperia. The Sheriff’s Department extends its gratitude to the public for their assistance in identifying Ochoa-Salgado.

According to Sgt. Michael Warrick, the apprehension of the suspects was the result of an extensive investigation. Authorities executed search warrants in Apple Valley, Adelanto, and the Los Angeles County area of Pinon Hills, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The shooting occurred on January 23 in the rural, unincorporated desert area of Adelanto. It was prompted by a distressing 911 call made by Franklin Noel Bonilla, who stated that he had been shot. When deputies arrived at the scene, they tragically discovered five dead men, and shortly after, Bonilla’s body was found nearby.

Homicide detectives revealed that the victims had all been shot, with four of them partially burned. Sheriff Shannon Dicus emphasized that illegal cannabis played a significant role in the motive behind the murders.
