Plane Crash Survivor Identified as Woman from Jupiter

JUPITER, Fla. – In a tragic incident on Friday, a fiery plane crash occurred on I-75 in Collier County, claiming the lives of two individuals. However, there were three survivors, one of whom has been identified as 23-year-old Sydney Ann Bosmans from Jupiter.
According to investigators, Bosmans was among the passengers on the eight-seater jet that crash-landed near Naples on Friday afternoon. The pilot, identified as Edward Daniel Murphy, 50, from Oakland Park, Florida, and the second in command, Ian Frederick Hofmann, 65, from Pompano Beach, Florida, unfortunately, did not survive the crash.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has not provided an update on Bosmans’ condition, but witnesses at the scene reported that she was able to walk and talk as she and the other survivors moved away from the fiery wreckage. They were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The Bombardier Challenger 600 jet crash-landed in the southbound lanes of I-75, close to the Golden Gate Parkway exit, at approximately 3:15 p.m. Apart from Bosmans, two other individuals, identified as Aaron Baker, 35, and Audra Green, 23, from Columbus, Ohio, also survived the crash. Sadly, the pilot had informed air traffic control that the plane had lost power to both engines, leading to the attempted crash landing.

The investigation into the incident is being led by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. As a result, the southbound lanes of I-75 near the crash site remain closed for further examination and analysis.
