Man killed and Three Injured in Suspected Theft Incident in Delhi’s Khichripur Area
A young man tragically lost his life while three others sustained injuries after allegedly being beaten by a group of individuals who suspected them of being thieves in Delhi’s Khichripur area, the police reported on Sunday.
Late on Sunday night, a PCR call alerted the police to a potential theft situation at a residential property. When the police arrived at the scene, they were met with a horrifying sight. The caller, identified as Vinod, was present and witnessed the entire incident.
Upon reaching the location, it became evident that the deceased victim, named Sahil, along with three others, had been brutally attacked by members of the public who suspected them of burglary. Sahil, a 25-year-old son of Raj Singh, suffered fatal injuries during the altercation and was pronounced dead upon arrival at LBS Hospital. The police also discovered that the three other victims had sustained injuries allegedly inflicted by the mob.
Based on the incident, the police have registered a case under sections 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). As investigations continue, the police have already apprehended three individuals named Vipul, Aditya, and Atul. They are currently searching for two others, Karan and Altaf, who are believed to be connected to the incident.

Further examination of CCTV footage is underway, and the police are making efforts to gather additional evidence and identify any potential suspects.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Sahil, along with his associate Kamaljeet alias Vicky, had allegedly entered the residence with the intention of committing theft. However, they were apprehended by the occupants and their associates, leading to a violent escalation that resulted in Sahil’s death and injuries to the others involved.
The police have stated that Kamaljeet alias Vicky has a history of involvement in house theft, robbery, and theft cases.
This tragic incident highlights the need for swift and efficient law enforcement to ensure public safety and prevent such acts of violence. The police are committed to bringing all those responsible to justice and providing closure to the grieving family of Sahil..
