Monday will see the start of the trial for Tevin Jamal Anderson, a 30-year-old convicted killer who is facing a charge of accessory to first-degree murder. The trial will be presided over by Comanche County Judge Emmit Tayloe. Anderson is accused of being an accessory in the shooting death of Richard E. Anderson, which took place on April 18, 2021, in Lawton. His cousin, Zaire Ameri Brown, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after delinquent adjudication in June 2023. Brown received a 25-year prison sentence for the murder charge and an additional five years for the gun charge.

In another case, Henry Clarence Lilly III, a father accused of allowing his 3-year-old daughter to die from a 17-pound tumor in January 2019, will face trial for first-degree manslaughter. The trial will begin with jury selection on Tuesday in District Judge Jay Walker’s courtroom. Lilly and his wife, Bonnie Beth Mills-Lilly, were both charged with the same crime, as they are accused of failing to provide medical care to their daughter, resulting in her death.

District Judge Scott D. Meaders’ court will begin seating its jury on Wednesday for the trial of James Joseph Jones. Jones, 40, is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. He is facing two felony counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16. The teenage girl reported the assault to her mother in October 2022, stating that Jones had touched and kissed her body inappropriately on multiple occasions.

These trials highlight the importance of seeking justice and holding individuals accountable for their actions. The court system plays a vital role in ensuring that victims receive the justice they deserve and that those responsible for crimes are held responsible. As the trials progress, the community will be closely watching the outcomes, hoping for a fair and just resolution.
