Israeli security forces have arrested a teacher from northern Israel for allegedly providing Hamas with the location of a defense industry plant in the north. The suspect, identified as Rami Habibullah, intended to help the terrorist organization fire rockets towards the plant, according to the Shin Bet and police.
Habibullah, a resident of Ein Mahil near Nazareth, contacted Hamas operatives abroad and offered his assistance in promoting terrorist activities within Israel. He provided a Hamas operative with a photo and the exact location of a defense industry plant near his home, as well as information on several other sensitive locations. Additionally, he collected funds for the terrorist group.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Habibullah had recruited another Israeli Arab, Khaled Saleh, to participate in terrorist activities. Saleh, a resident of Ein Mahil, offered to provide weapons for these operations. Both Habibullah and Saleh have been arrested and are facing charges related to national security crimes.
The Shin Bet and Israel Police issued a joint statement condemning the actions of Israeli citizens who collaborate with terrorist organizations. They emphasized their commitment to using all means at their disposal to thwart threats within Israeli society.
