New Delhi Family Reunion Turns Into a Tale of Deception: Delhi Man Who Returned Home After 22 Years Exposed as a Fraud
New Delhi: In a distressing turn of events, what was initially a heartwarming reunion between a mother and her long-lost son has now become a shocking tale of deception for a family in Delhi. Bhanumati Singh, a resident of Delhi, was overjoyed last month when she was finally reunited with her son Pinku, who had run away from home at the tender age of 11 following a fight back in 2002.

The reunion occurred when Bhanumati and her husband, Ratipal Singh, received information that a monk with a striking resemblance to Pinku was visiting Ratipal’s native village, Kharauli in Amethi. Filled with hope, they made their way to the village on January 27, where the ascetic claimed to be their long-lost son.
A heartwarming video captured the emotional moment when the ascetic sought alms from Bhanumati and sang folk songs, moving her to tears of joy. It seemed like a miracle had finally brought her son back to her.
However, the story took a shocking twist when Pinku revealed that he had chosen the path of monkhood and needed to return to his monastery, Parasnath Math, in Jharkhand, to complete his initiation. As part of the process, he requested alms from his family.
Initially hesitant, Pinku’s parents eventually agreed, and the villagers generously contributed foodgrains and money to support his journey. On February 1, Pinku left the village, seemingly on his way to his monastery.

But as the days went by, the situation took an alarming turn. Pinku began demanding an exorbitant amount of money from his family, claiming it was a requirement set by the monastery. Desperate to reunite with his son, Ratipal sold his land and promised to deliver the funds.
However, suspicions arose when Pinku insisted on receiving the money through bank transfer or a UPI app. An investigation was launched, and it was revealed that there was no monastery named Parasnath Math in Jharkhand. The individual posing as Pinku was identified as Nafees from Gonda village, who had been scamming parents of missing children.
Further inquiries uncovered that Nafees’ brother had executed a similar deception in 2021, posing as a monk and duping another family of their savings. Ratipal filed a complaint with the police, who are currently investigating the matter.
