Patiala police Busts Inter-State Gang of Highway Robbers Operating from Delhi

Patiala: In its ongoing efforts to dismantle organized criminal networks in Punjab, Patiala police have successfully busted an inter-state gang of highway robbers who were allegedly operating from Delhi. The notorious gang had a presence in Delhi, UP, Uttrakhand, Haryana, and Punjab, according to the police.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Patiala, Varun Sharma, revealed that the gang’s modus operandi involved targeting houses, showrooms, jewellery shops, and vehicles near the highways. Acting on a tip-off, the police formed a team under the supervision of SP investigation Yogesh Kumar and guidance of DSP Rajpura Bikramjit Singh Brar. They successfully arrested five members by intercepting their vehicle at a police barrier on Rajpura highway. The arrested individuals were identified as Prince Nagi alias Rupesh, Rajan Bisht, Arif Ali, Vicky, and Mohammad Sahil, all hailing from New Delhi. The accused were found to be in possession of three pistols, 20 live cartridges, one vehicle, and various heavy-duty tools.
This recent success comes as Patiala police intensifies its crackdown on criminal activities in the region. The arrest of this inter-state gang of highway robbers is a significant blow to their criminal operations. The police are now working to gather more information about the gang’s activities and its connections across multiple states.
In related news, the Division Number 2 police in Ludhiana recently arrested three individuals involved in vehicle theft. The arrest of Surinder Singh, Surjit Singh alias Mugri, and Karanpal Singh alias Karan led to the recovery of eight stolen motorcycles and the resolution of several criminal cases.

Furthermore, a weapon suppliers gang was busted with the arrest of three of its members. Satnam Singh Dhaliwal was apprehended with a .32 bore pistol and a live cartridge, followed by the arrest of the weapon manufacturer Iqbal Singh, who had seven pistols in his possession. Akash Dawar was also taken into custody, and six pistols were seized from him.
These recent successful operations highlight the relentless efforts of Punjab police in combating organized crime and ensuring the safety and security of the residents. The police continue to work diligently to dismantle criminal networks and bring the perpetrators to justice..
