President of Prestige Lakeside Habitat Arrested in Connection with Tragic Death of Nine-Year-Old

The Varthur police have made a significant breakthrough in the case of the tragic death of nine-year-old Manya. Seven individuals, including the president of Prestige Lakeside Habitat, have been apprehended and presented in court. They have now been remanded to judicial custody.
The incident took place on December 29, 2023, around 7:30 pm. Manya was playing near the swimming pool at the apartment complex when she accidentally fell in and got electrocuted. Despite immediate efforts to rush her to a nearby hospital, she was pronounced dead by medical professionals.
The primary accused in this case is Debashish Sinha, the 37-year-old president of the Home Owners’ Association of Prestige Lakeside Habitat. Alongside him, others arrested include Safiq Rao, the 44-year-old vice-president of Prestige Property Management, as well as electricians Santosh Maharana, Gobinda Mandal, Bikas Kumar Paridha, and Bhaktha Charan Pradhan. Suresh Babu, the owner of Vision India Marketing, was also among those apprehended. They all face charges under sections 149 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code.
Investigations have revealed that both the apartment management and electricians were aware of the presence of live electric current in the swimming pool area but failed to implement adequate safety measures.
