According to Chief Gallagher, Boyle appeared to be intoxicated and potentially under the influence of drugs. Despite being asked to leave multiple times, Boyle refused and continued to threaten the bar’s employees. Eventually, he left the premises but returned shortly after. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

The staff involved did not wish to press charges against Boyle but simply wanted him removed from the bar. Responding officers informed Boyle that he was banned from the establishment and instructed him to leave, to which he complied.

The Rockledge Police Department is currently working alongside the Malt House to review surveillance footage and phone videos of the incident. Once their investigation is complete, appropriate action will be taken.

In a statement released on Facebook, the Rockledge Police Department emphasized that Boyle’s status as an elected official and his political party affiliation are irrelevant to their investigation. They remain committed to remaining neutral and apolitical in all circumstances.
