In a startling turn of events, four out of seven individuals apprehended in Turkey on suspicion of connections with the Israeli intelligence service, Mossad, have reportedly confessed to their affiliations, according to official sources. This revelation has sent shockwaves through the nation, raising concerns about the extent of foreign intelligence activities on Turkish soil.

The operation, a joint effort between the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) and the General Directorate of Security (EGM), resulted in the arrest of nine individuals. Among them, seven were taken into custody on Friday, and four have now come forward with admissions of their involvement with Israeli intelligence, as detailed in a referral letter drafted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The letter highlights the case of a person identified as G.K., who had been in communication with an Israeli intelligence division since 2019. G.K. assumed the role of a “private detective” and continued to engage with foreign individuals and entities under the directives of Yuriy Kovalchuk, a prominent figure within the Israeli Intelligence Service Online Operation Center.

According to the document, G.K. carried out various tasks related to research, surveillance, and follow-up activities, all while receiving financial benefits. Furthermore, G.K. collaborated with other individuals, including M.K., who is facing charges of espionage.

M.K.’s statements, included in the arrest warrant issued by the Istanbul Criminal Court of Peace, deny the accusations against him. However, the investigation has uncovered evidence that Mossad, through private detectives, was actively tracking targets in Turkey. The Israeli intelligence service collected biographical information, conducted reconnaissance and investigation, captured footage, and utilized tracking devices.

The operation, which led to the apprehension of seven suspects in Istanbul and Izmir, was carried out by teams from the Istanbul police Department Intelligence Branch and the Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate. Disturbingly, it has also been revealed that two of the suspects had previously been arrested in connection with similar offenses, raising questions about the effectiveness of previous investigations.

As the investigation into this intelligence operation unfolds, Turkish authorities are determined to uncover the full extent of Mossad’s activities on their soil. The nation remains on high alert, as the shocking revelations shed light on the potential threats posed by foreign intelligence agencies operating within their borders.
