Newly released, heart-pounding footage provides a chilling glimpse into the terrifying moments when three survivors managed to escape from a burning jet that crashed onto a busy Florida interstate, claiming the lives of two individuals. The video, shared with Local 10 News, captures the trio sprinting away from the wreckage, which was engulfed in bright orange flames and billowing black smoke.
The survivors, clearly in shock, were met with the urgent cries of passing motorist Kyle Cavaliere, who stopped to offer assistance. “Is there anybody else in there?” he shouted. In response, a woman can be heard exclaiming, “Yes! Our pilots! Our pilots!”, while her coworker appears incoherent and distraught.
Tragically, the pilots, identified as Edward Daniel Murphy and Ian Frederick Hofmann, did not survive the crash. The Bombardier Challenger 600 jet, carrying a total of five individuals, was attempting to land at the nearby Naples airport when it unexpectedly lost power in both engines. In a harrowing audio recording of the flight, Pilot Murphy can be heard calmly informing the airport controller that the aircraft “was not going to make the runway” just moments before disaster struck.

Eyewitnesses reported that the plane’s wing clipped a car and dragged it before crashing into a wall, resulting in a deadly explosion. The survivors, identified as Sydney Ann Bosmans, Aaron Baker, and Audra Green, were rushed to a local hospital for their injuries. At present, their conditions remain unknown.
The private jet had departed from an airport in Columbus, Ohio, and was en route to Naples when the incident occurred. Operated by Hop-a-Jet Worldwide Charter, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the aircraft was scheduled to return to its origin later that day. It is important to note that the aircraft is not affiliated with Ohio State University, according to a spokesperson from the institution.
