Dramatic Video Captures Survivors Escaping Burning Plane Crash on Florida Highway

In a heart-stopping turn of events on Friday afternoon, drivers on Interstate 75 in Florida witnessed a small plane crash and burst into flames just moments before it would have reached the runway at Naples Airport. The shocking incident, which occurred at around 3:15 p.m., was captured on a cellphone video that has since gone viral on social media.
The video shows three of the five passengers onboard the Bombardier Challenger 600 series jet running for their lives as the wreckage burns behind them. In the footage, a concerned motorist, Kyle Cavaliere, can be heard shouting at the survivors, asking if there were any others still inside the aircraft. To his relief, one of the survivors, a woman, responded that the pilots were still onboard. However, their condition was uncertain.
The survivors were rushed to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Tragically, the pilot and co-pilot did not survive the crash. They have been identified as 50-year-old Edward Daniel Murphy and 65-year-old Frederick Hofmann, both residents of Florida. The three individuals who miraculously escaped the burning wreckage have been identified as 23-year-old Sydney Ann Bosmans, a crew member from Jupiter, FL, and passengers 35-year-old Aaron Baker and 23-year-old Audra Green, both from Columbus, OH.
The ill-fated flight had departed from Ohio State University Airport in Columbus, OH, and was en route to Naples before continuing on to Fort Lauderdale. However, just minutes before reaching its destination, the plane experienced engine failure, leading to the crash.

Eyewitnesses described the horrifying scene as the plane collided with a vehicle on the busy highway, resulting in a massive fireball. Gary Elsinger, who was with his son at the time, recounted the moment they realized what had happened. “My son says, ‘Oh, I just saw an explosion.’ I thought it was probably a car accident, but as we got closer, we’re like, wait a minute, is that a plane?” Elsinger said.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are currently underway, with authorities focusing on the engine failure as the primary factor. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been called in to conduct a thorough investigation.
