Man Arrested for Assault and Bias Crime in Old Town Portland

According to the Portland police Bureau, the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Corey A. Nesenson of Portland, set fire to some clothing before launching a vicious attack on a bystander.
The chaos began when firefighters received a report of a fire in the area of Northwest Sixth Avenue and Northwest Glisan Street. Witnesses claimed that a man had set clothing ablaze, prompting the swift response of Portland Fire & Rescue. As they worked to extinguish the flames, the police arrived at the scene and witnessed Nesenson assaulting a bystander with a pair of scissors.
