Salon Shooting in Najafgarh: Second Gunman Identified as Sanjeev, Son of Delhi police Officer
In a shocking incident that unfolded in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh, two men were mercilessly gunned down by a pair of shooters inside a salon. The police have now identified the second gunman as Sanjeev, who happens to be the son of a serving Delhi Police officer, according to sources.
The first shooter, previously identified as Chintu, is known to be a henchman of jailed gangster Yogesh Tunda. As reported by TOI on Saturday, Chintu was the first to be named in this horrifying crime. The police are now in hot pursuit of both gunmen.
While one suspect was detained late on Saturday, no official arrest has been confirmed yet. However, the police claim to have made significant progress in the case after questioning a man named Neeraj, who was present in the salon during the shooting and was allegedly the third target of the gunmen.

Neeraj, a resident of Nangli Shakrawati, is a bookie and also an accused in a murder case. Sources reveal that he narrowly escaped being shot by hiding in a room when the gunmen appeared. The source further adds that Neeraj and Ashish, who tragically lost his life in the incident, were friends and involved in a murder case in Goyla Dairy two years ago. They had recently been released on bail.
The double-murder is believed to be the result of a rift between two rival gangs. In addition to some outstanding payments, the victims were suspected of being police informers, as revealed by a cop. The trigger for this gruesome act, the police suspect, was an abusive social media post by the deceased against the shooters.
Chintu, the first shooter, had been arrested last December in a case of extortion. TOI gained access to the FIR related to that arrest, which revealed that he and his associates were accused of making threatening phone calls and demanding protection money in the name of Yogesh Tunda.
The CCTV footage from the salon shows both gunmen entering the premises 30 to 40 minutes prior to the shooting. Disguised as customers, they enquired about the rates before leaving and returning once their targets had arrived.
The chilling video captures both men brandishing pistols, with one victim seen crouching on the ground, pleading to the gunman with folded hands. Unfazed by the plea, the assailant fired several rounds at the man, who tragically collapsed. In the midst of the chaos, a woman can be seen briefly looking at the victim before rushing into a room in a state of panic.
As the investigation continues, the police are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to bring the culprits to justice and uncover the full extent of this shocking crime..
