The incident took place at a residence on Indian Ridge Road in Falls of Rough, according to a press release from Kentucky State police (KSP) Post 4. The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) requested assistance from KSP Post 4 in investigating the homicide.

Initial investigations revealed that George Greer had assaulted three adults who lived with him at the residence. Greer admitted to being under the influence of drugs and to killing one female and assaulting another female and a male with a samurai sword, according to his arrest citation.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the deceased female, later identified as 59-year-old Teresa Boles, in the neighbor’s yard, along with the assaulted female. The male victim was found at the residence. Unfortunately, Teresa Boles was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner’s Office.

Joseph Boles, 60, was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition. Greer’s girlfriend, 32-year-old Lauren Tabor, was also injured and transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for treatment of severe, but non-life-threatening injuries. She has since been released from the hospital.

Before officers arrived, Greer fled the residence in a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country van belonging to one of the Boles. A search was conducted by KSP and GCSO, along with agencies in surrounding counties. Greer allegedly broke into a residence and stole some clothing before crashing another vehicle on farm property.

The KSP Aircraft Support Branch discovered the abandoned minivan on Hollow Church Road near Short Creek. Authorities later found a stolen Chevrolet Impala near the end of Edwards Cemetery Road. Greer was apprehended without incident with the assistance of KSP’s air unit.

Greer has been charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, theft, burglary, and fleeing or evading police. At his arraignment, he pleaded not guilty to the charges and is set to appear for a preliminary hearing next Wednesday.

The investigation is ongoing, led by Det. Bryan Washer, with assistance from several agencies including the Leitchfield Police Department, Grayson County EMS, and the Falls of Rough Fire Department.

KSP Post 4 Public Affairs Officer Scotty Sharp commended the work of the troopers and detectives at KSP Post 4, as well as the other agencies involved in the investigation and search for the suspect..
