Five killed in Collision between Easy Bike and Truck on Khulna-Satkhira Highway
A tragic incident occurred today on the Khulna-Satkhira highway, resulting in the death of five people. The collision between an easy bike and a brick-laden truck took place at the Angardoha culvert area of Kharnia union. The truck, heading towards Satkhira from Khulna, collided with the easy bike coming from the opposite direction.
According to Hamid Uddin Ahmed, the officer-in-charge of Kharnia highway police station, the truck driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. The police have not been able to detain the driver yet.
Sukanta Saha, the OC of Dumuria police station, stated that two people died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries at the Dumuria Upazila Health Complex. One person was pronounced dead at the Khulna Medical College Hospital. Among the deceased were Sabbir Moral, 23, from Angardoha village in Kharnia union, Nipa Dhali, 25, from Bill Pabla village in Gutudia union, the easy bike driver Biswajit Biswas, 30, from Jieltala village in Shobna union, and his two-year-old daughter Orni. An unidentified 26-year-old woman also lost her life in the accident.

Biswajit’s wife, Antima, sustained serious injuries in the collision and is currently receiving treatment at the Khulna Medical College Hospital along with Orijit, 30.
The incident has caused shock and sorrow in the local community. The police are actively investigating the matter and are determined to bring the truck driver to justice.
Road accidents continue to be a major concern in Bangladesh, with reckless driving and negligence often being the leading causes. The authorities need to take stronger measures to ensure road safety and enforce traffic regulations to prevent such tragic incidents.
