Ulhasnagar police Arrest Six Suspects in Brutal Murder Case
The Central police in Ulhasnagar have made a breakthrough in a gruesome murder case, with the arrest of six individuals allegedly involved in the killing of a 28-year-old man. The victim, identified as Rahul Jaiswal, was brutally attacked in the early hours of Thursday morning, losing his life in a shocking turn of events.
The arrested suspects have been named as Premchandra alias Babu alias Panjabi Manohar Thakani, Karan Manohar Thakani, Santosh Arun Salve, Pranay Sudhir Shetty, Praful Kumavat, and Basant Thakani. Within just 24 hours of committing the crime, the police managed to apprehend all six individuals, who were subsequently produced in court and remanded into police custody until February 15th.
According to Vijay Waghmare, Senior Police Inspector at Central Police Station, the investigation was conducted with utmost diligence. Three teams were formed under the instruction of DCP Sudhir Pathare, with one team focused on analyzing CCTV footage, another working on technical intelligence, and local informers providing crucial leads. The combined effort of these teams led to the swift apprehension of the accused from different locations within the Thane district.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that Jaiswal had a KTM bike worth ₹2.5 lakh, which had been set on fire by Babu Punjabi in 2022. Jaiswal had previously filed a case against Babu, resulting in his arrest and subsequent release on bail. Seeking to resolve the matter, Babu contacted Jaiswal and offered him ₹25,000 as compensation for the bike, on the condition that he withdrew the case. However, Jaiswal refused to accept the offer, leading to escalating tension between the two.

Tragically, on the morning of the incident, Babu, along with Karan Dhakni and other gang members, attacked Jaiswal’s house. As Jaiswal and his mother attempted to seek assistance at the police station, they were ambushed by the assailants. Chili powder was thrown into their eyes, and Jaiswal was stabbed before being fatally struck on the head with a stone.
Upon receiving information about the attack, the police swiftly arrived at the scene. Jaiswal was immediately rushed to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar, but sadly, he was declared dead upon arrival.
The suspects have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and criminal conspiracy, as well as relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.
The arrest of these six individuals brings some semblance of justice to the grieving family of Rahul Jaiswal. The police have demonstrated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of Ulhasnagar, and this successful operation serves as a testament to their dedication and professionalism..
