Fugitives Arrested in Henderson for Felony Theft and Criminal Conspiracy

A group of Louisiana fugitives has been apprehended in Henderson, Kentucky on charges of Felony Theft and Criminal Conspiracy. The arrests were made by officials from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office after they received information that a vehicle registered to 54-year-old Patrick Mack, a wanted man from Louisiana, was entering the county.

The vehicle, which had a South Carolina registration, was located by a Henderson police Department officer at the Sugar Mill Inn on US 41 North. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers discovered three men inside, identified as 71-year-old Thomas Riley, 34-year-old Pete Mack, and 60-year-old Thomas Mack.

Meanwhile, Patrick Mack was found in the motel lobby, having just purchased two rooms. A detective from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office found him and learned that he had hidden zip lock bags of jewelry in a trash can.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that all four men were wanted out of Louisiana for Felony Theft and Criminal Conspiracy through the DeRiddler Police Department. As a result, each of the fugitives had a bond of $250,000, totaling $1 million collectively.

The men were subsequently arrested and booked into the Henderson County Detention Center. During the arrest, authorities found several pieces of stolen jewelry in the pockets of all four fugitives.

What makes this case even more concerning is that all four of the fugitives are known to be part of a group of criminals called the “Irish Travelers.” This group specifically targets elderly individuals, gaining access to their homes by posing as salesmen and then stealing from them. Detectives believe that the four fugitives were engaged in this very scheme.

The arrests of these individuals serve as a reminder of the importance of remaining vigilant and cautious when dealing with unfamiliar individuals. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement agencies are working together to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
