The tight-knit community of East Lansdowne, Delaware County gathered in Yeadon Community Park on Saturday to hold a vigil in remembrance of the Le family, who tragically lost their lives in a shooting and house fire earlier in the week. Xuong Le, his wife Britni McLaughlin-Le, and their three children, 17-year-old NaTalya, 13-year-old NaKayla, and 10-year-old Xavier, were honored during the emotional ceremony.

The remains of the Le family were discovered amidst the ashes of their home on Lewis Avenue, where a massive fire had ravaged the property. The devastation left the community in shock and mourning, as they grappled with the loss of their beloved neighbors and friends.

During the vigil, Britni McLaughlin-Le’s father, John McLaughlin, spoke to the crowd and shared memories of his daughter’s life. He expressed his gratitude for her husband, Xuong Le, and the life they had built together, saying, “I can die today because I know he got them. They lived a full, wonderful life.”

Authorities believe that Canh Le, Xuong Le’s 43-year-old brother, was the shooter responsible for the tragedy. It is suspected that Canh Le shot and killed his family members before setting the house ablaze. Two police officers, John Meehan and David Schiazza, were injured in the incident but have since been released from the hospital.

As the investigation continues, medical examiners are working to determine the exact causes of death for the Le family. Loved ones and friends are left to mourn the loss of NaKayla, a talented dancer at Cathie Collins Dance Studio in Aldan. The studio paid tribute to her on their Facebook page, describing her as “an amazing girl, a talented dancer, and an incredible friend.”

The East Lansdowne community has come together to support each other during this difficult time. Balloons and teddy bears surround the remains of the Le family’s home, symbolizing the healing process that the community must now undertake. The owner of Cathie Collins School of Dance has dedicated one of their competition dances to NaKayla, ensuring that her memory will live on throughout the season.

In a statement released by the McLaughlin family, they described Xuong and Britni as a loving and devoted couple, cherished parents, and beloved friends. The family’s legacy will be remembered and honored by all those who knew them.

The East Lansdowne community is left in mourning, but they remain united in their grief and determination to support one another. The tragic loss of the Le family has had a profound impact on the community, but their memory will forever be cherished..
