Ottawa police Identify Suspect in Shooting Death of 33-Year-Old Man
Ottawa homicide investigators have made significant progress in their investigation into the shooting death of 33-year-old Jama Roble. The Ottawa Police Service has identified a suspect in connection with the incident that occurred on Champagne Avenue South in Little Italy.

Jama Roble tragically lost his life on January 29 after sustaining critical injuries from the shooting. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away in hospital on Thursday.
The Ottawa Police Service has named Gibriil Bakal, a 29-year-old man from Edmonton, as the prime suspect in Roble’s murder. Bakal is currently wanted for first-degree murder in relation to this case.
Described as a black male, Bakal stands at six feet one inch tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds (86 kg). The police are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Ottawa Police Service homicide unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.
