Raipur Railway Station Tragedy: Security Personnel Killed in Accidental Gunfire
In a devastating turn of events, a jawan of the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) lost his life in an accidental gunfire incident at the Raipur railway station in Chhattisgarh. The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning, also left a passenger injured.
The tragedy unfolded around 6 am when a team of the RPSF, led by a sub-inspector, was disembarking from the Sarnath Express train after completing their escort duty. It was during this process that constable Dinesh Chandra, aged 30, accidentally discharged his service weapon, resulting in a bullet hitting his chest. Tragically, Chandra succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital.
Additionally, a passenger named Mohammad Danish, who was sleeping on an upper berth at the time, sustained injuries to his abdomen due to the gunfire. He too was rushed to the same private hospital for medical treatment.
