Employee of Frayser Tax Service Shot and killed in Robbery
Two individuals have been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing an employee of a tax service in Frayser, Memphis. The incident occurred on Monday morning when the suspects reportedly rummaged through the victim’s pockets and took the keys to his car immediately after the fatal shooting.
The victim, Charlie Patterson, was discovered dead inside A Better Day Tax Solutions on Frayser Boulevard by his girlfriend, who called 911. Memphis police arrived at the scene and found Patterson on the floor with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
According to Patterson’s girlfriend, he had not returned home the previous night, prompting her to visit his workplace. Tragically, she found him lifeless upon arrival. However, his red Mercedes Benz was missing from the premises.
Police reviewed surveillance footage from the business, which captured the murder on video. The footage showed Patterson engaging in a conversation with two men for approximately 15 minutes. Suddenly, one of the strangers drew a handgun and shot Patterson in the back of his head while his back was turned.

After Patterson fell to the ground, the second suspect allegedly searched through his pockets and stole his belongings, including the keys to his Mercedes. Both men then utilized Patterson’s car as their getaway vehicle.
Authorities discovered the stolen car on Thursday in an undisclosed location and detained two men who were in close proximity to the vehicle. Following an investigation, 19-year-old Isaiah Williams was identified as the shooter, while 20-year-old Marquel Anderson was identified as the individual who frisked Patterson’s body afterward.
It is worth noting that both suspects had active arrest warrants unrelated to this case. They are now facing charges of first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery and especially aggravated robbery. Both are currently being held without bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
