Tragic Accident Claims Life of Elderly Man in Marathon County
A heartbreaking incident occurred on Friday afternoon in Marathon County, Wisconsin, as a 76-year-old man lost his life in a car accident. The victim has been identified as Alan Woznicki, a resident of Schofield.
The unfortunate incident took place on County Highway C near Elderon, where Woznicki was driving east. According to eyewitnesses, his vehicle suddenly veered off the road and crashed into a large rock in the south ditch, causing it to burst into flames.
Thankfully, several compassionate individuals passing by rushed to the scene and pulled Woznicki out of the burning car. However, despite their valiant efforts and the arrival of emergency medical personnel, Woznicki remained unresponsive. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An important detail to note is that Woznicki was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, emphasizing the importance of this safety measure in preventing severe injuries.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and gather further details surrounding the incident.
