Thiruvananthapuram: In a heartbreaking incident that has left the local community in shock, a wild elephant trampled a taxi driver to death near Mananthavady in Kerala. The victim, identified as Ajeesh, was only 42 years old and was the sole breadwinner of his family. His untimely demise has sparked widespread protests in the area, with angry locals demanding justice and better protection against wildlife attacks.

The Kerala government, in response to the public outcry, has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs and a government job for a family member of the deceased. State Forest Minister A. K. Saseendran expressed his condolences and emphasized the need for calm during this difficult time.
