A Tragic Accident Claims the Life of a 39-Year-Old Motorcyclist in Bhiwandi

A 39-year-old motorcycle rider, Ajay Narayan Taware, tragically lost his life after being struck by a tempo in Bhiwandi on Thursday morning, according to the police. Taware, a resident of Purna village in Bhiwandi, was on his way to work when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The incident took place on the Thane-Agra road near Adinath complex in Purna village at around 9 am. Taware was heading towards Purna from Kalher village when the tempo collided with his bike, causing him severe injuries. Passersby and bystanders rushed to the scene, but the tempo driver fled, leaving the vehicle behind.

Taware suffered critical head, abdomen, and chest injuries after being crushed under the rear wheel of the tempo. Despite immediate efforts to save his life, he was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital in Bhiwandi. The police were alerted by local residents, and an investigation into the accident was initiated.

Driver of the Tempo Arrested and Charged

The driver of the tempo, identified as Ali, initially fled the scene due to fear of the gathering mob. However, he later surrendered himself at the police station. A case has been registered against him under sections 304 (A) (Causing Death by negligence) and 279 (Rash and driving) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act.

Nana Rayate, the investigation officer at Narpoli Police Station, provided details regarding Ali’s arrest. After surrendering, Ali was issued a notice and subsequently apprehended. He was produced in court and later released on bail.

Taware’s body was handed over to his grieving family members after a post-mortem examination. The loss of this 39-year-old motorcycle enthusiast has left the community in shock and mourning.

As road accidents continue to claim lives, it is crucial for both drivers and pedestrians to adhere to traffic rules and exercise caution. Authorities are working towards improving road safety measures to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring.
