Two Arrested in Connection with Knoxville Apartment Fire

Authorities have announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with an apartment fire that occurred in mid-January in Knoxville, Tennessee. The incident, which took place on January 11 at the Holston Ridge Apartments complex on Mystic River Way, was determined to be intentionally set by fire investigators.

Following an extensive investigation, Wendy Ann Franklin, 48, was identified as a suspect on January 23. She was subsequently located at an apartment complex on Sevier Avenue, accompanied by another individual named Paul Sexton Jr., 33.

Both Franklin and Sexton have been taken into custody and are facing charges related to the fire. Franklin has been charged with aggravated arson, theft of property, aggravated arson, and drug charges. Sexton, on the other hand, has been charged with theft of property after authorities discovered that he had been attempting to sell items taken from the complex.

Fortunately, due to the building’s sprinkler system, the fire only caused significant damage to the unit that Franklin set ablaze, sparing the rest of the apartment complex from further destruction.
