Police authorities are currently conducting an intensive investigation into the case of Dr. Carlito “Carl” Panganoron, an academic professor who went missing on January 19 and was rescued two days later on Sunday evening, January 21. Dr. Panganoron, the owner and President of the Wrestlemind Mind Review Center and college program head of the Criminal Justice Department at Mati Polytechnic College Incorporated (MPCI), was retrieved along the Madaum-Maco road in Madaum, Tagum city, Davao del Norte.

However, the police authorities claim that the testimonies given by Dr. Panganoron and his family were weak and inconsistent, raising doubts about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. In a phone interview with SunStar Davao, Police Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Latayada of the Tagum City Police Office (TCPO) revealed that the victim’s wife’s statement differed from the CCTV footage and testimonies obtained during the investigation.

Despite Dr. Panganoron’s claims of being kidnapped and robbed, several video footages showed no evidence of such an incident occurring. “We can’t say that the victim lied, but there are CCTV footages that show nothing happened to him and he didn’t have anyone with him either,” stated Lieutenant Colonel Latayada.

The management of MPCI expressed their concern over Dr. Panganoron’s disappearance, describing him as a beloved member of their community. They urged anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation.

In a now-viral post on Facebook, Dr. Panganoron reached out for help, stating that he had been robbed and had suffered multiple stab wounds. He is currently receiving medical attention at the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Tagum City.
