Industrial Mishap in Humnabad Leaves Two Workers Dead
Late on Sunday, a tragic incident unfolded at Prasanna Pre Processing Private Limited in the Humnabad Industrial Area of Bidar district, as two workers lost their lives on the factory premises. The victims, identified as 23-year-old Indrajeet from Salayya Fatak Village in Katni district, Madhya Pradesh, and 22-year-old Mohammad Shadab from Waddankera near Humnabad, were unloading chemical waste at a godown when the mishap occurred around 8.30 p.m.

According to reports, the workers became unconscious and collapsed after inhaling toxic fumes, resulting in their tragic demise. Despite being rushed to a government hospital in Humnabad, they were declared brought dead. The exact cause of their deaths will be determined through a thorough investigation by officers from the Factories and Boilers and Pollution Control Board.
Prasanna Pre Processing Private Limited specializes in storing and processing chemical waste collected from various plants. Preliminary findings by the Inspector of Factories and Boilers and the Karnataka Pollution Control Board officer indicate that the release of hazardous fumes and the subsequent inhalation of the toxic gases led to the workers’ untimely deaths.
Bidar Deputy Commissioner Govinda Reddy has assured the public that there has been no leakage of hazardous fumes or gases into the atmosphere, emphasizing that the discharge is confined to the factory premises. He urged the residents of Humnabad not to panic, as the situation is under control.
In the wake of this tragedy, a complaint has been lodged by Mohammad Kutubuddin, the father of Mohammad Shadab, against five individuals, including Prasanna Pre Processing Private Limited owner Panduranga Reddy, director P. Kondareddy, and manager Joti Prakash Patnayak. The complaint alleges negligence and culpable homicide, as the company has allegedly stored hazardous chemical waste without implementing necessary safety measures. Kutubuddin also claims that the pollution control officers allowed the company to operate without proper inspections.

The factory will remain closed until further notice while authorities conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
