Murder investigation Launched After Businessman Found Dead in Ngoliba
Detectives in Ngoliba, Thika East, Kiambu county are currently investigating the murder of a prominent businessman, Erastus Muturi Wanyoike, aged 62. The shocking incident took place at his hardware store located along the busy Thika-Garissa highway.
Eyewitnesses revealed that on the fateful day of January 18, they saw Mr. Wanyoike being forcibly dragged into a waiting car while he bravely resisted his attackers during the broad daylight assault. Tragically, the assailant managed to overpower him, stabbing him multiple times in the chest and head before making a swift escape.

A few minutes after the horrifying ordeal, the lifeless body of Erastus Muturi Wanyoike was discovered on the veranda of his hardware store. The victim bore visible stab wounds on his hands, stomach, and head, indicating a brutal and violent attack.
Local authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects and are struggling to establish the motive behind this heinous crime. A manhunt has been launched to track down the assailant, with hopes of bringing them to justice.
Following the discovery of the deceased, his body was transported to General Kago’s mortuary, where it awaits an official postmortem examination. The results of this examination will provide crucial details that may aid the investigation in uncovering more information about the circumstances surrounding Mr. Wanyoike’s untimely demise.
In a separate incident, the police are also investigating the tragic death of a mechanic, Joseph Kathiaka, aged 33, in Mlolongo town, Machakos county. The unfortunate incident occurred while Mr. Kathiaka was diligently working on a trailer at his place of employment. Tragically, the cabin of the truck unexpectedly slipped off, pinning his head against the chassis.

Efforts were made to rescue him swiftly, and he was rushed to Shalom Hospital for urgent medical attention. However, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he tragically succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Joseph Kathiaka’s body has been transferred to the hospital mortuary, where it will undergo a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
