Five people tragically lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision between a scooter and a motorbike in the Kesharipatna area near Sorada in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The incident occurred on Thursday night, approximately 80km from Berhampur.
One person was critically injured in the mishap and is currently receiving treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

The deceased have been identified as Srikant Gouda of Ashurabandh, Manoj Dakua of Dulada, Mahendra Nayak of Gopalpur Sashan Ambagaon, Jayant Badatya of Sorada, and Rajani Gouda of Sana Sorada. All victims were between the ages of 30 and 43.
Tragically, four of the victims died on the spot, while Jayant succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the medical college and hospital.
The injured person was initially admitted to Sorada Hospital but was later referred to the medical college and hospital for further treatment.
According to the police, three individuals were riding each of the two-wheelers involved in the collision.
